Glen Baxter, President, Cochise County Humane Society When it comes to animals, Glen Baxter and his posse are compassionate, intelligent, and somewhat saintly. This is good talk radio, especially if you have a sense of justice, and you care about "all God's creatures". Leave your comments below.

Joy Banks She and her family don't watch TV. They read. (Nine children and they read?) Joy Banks wanted to put a small white cross representing each American killed in Iraq in our city park (Veterans Memorial) but the city would not permit her. She has a hand in the local protests against the use of torture, and recently picketed SV city hall over the council appointment process. But it doesn't stop there. Listen to Dan's interview with local Joy Banks. She's feisty.
Monday, April 13, 2009
Should Sierra Vista Adopt A System of Wards? Wards have been talked about in Sierra Vista almost since the beginning (in another interview you'll hear Ethyl Berger say it was discussed back when she was the first woman mayor in Arizona). Tom thinks we'll have some form of wards. Listen in, then, leave your comments.

Huachuca City Mayor v Council - No Love Lost Here If Dave Perry wins the Mayor's job in Huachuca City he'll serve just one term to round out his career as a local politician. He definitely does not see himself as a shoo-in on May 19th. He talks with Cochise Talk's Dan Abrams about what is going on in the little town he calls home.
Monday, May 11, 2009
Time For George To Go While councilman-elect Craig Smith was DOIN' LUNCH with Dan Abrams for this interview, voters in Huachuca City were in the process of derailing Mayor George Nerhan's political career. Have residents in this small town grown weary of local "politics as un-usual"? Smith, himself sued 3 times by Nerhan, (an act that did not amuse at least one judge), shares the same inside stories with us as he has also with the FBI. Find out why voters said, it is "Time For George To Go".
Thursday, May 21, 2009
New Huachuca City Mayor Byron Robertson He talks softly and without swagger. You get that rule #1 is "No BS". His first run at elected office is mayor of his city. With a one-vote victory, affirmed in a recount in Bisbee an hour after this interview, one gets that this man could have all the mandate he needs to "fix" Huachuca City after turbulent times. Meet Mayor Byron Robertson. byronintheblind@hotmail.com

Economy-Effecting Our Youth-No Sports In Middle School? We can only imagine the impact a messed-up economy can have on our nation... including our CHILDREN. No sports in middle school? So, what happens to high schoolers, college kids, and kids destined for a life of sports? Jordan Silk has kids effected by the crunch on our schools. He has been activated to make a difference along with his wife and many others. This is an attempt to keep America in a certain place. This is a compelling interview.

Do The Math - Taxes Are Revolting We have said that "revolution is a young person's endeavor. We retract that statement. Revolution is for ANYONE who is principally indignant and, to borrow a phrase, "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore." In this interview with Vera Hylsky, retired school teacher, Dan Abrams discusses the whole idea of Socialism and whether or not the U.S. is destined to become a "socialist state". You won't find a more insightful interview on the subject... anywhere. E-mail your comments to dan@cochisetalk.com
Saturday, July 25, 2009
WARDS:Pro and Con Sierra Vista may turn one day from an at-large voting system to the WARD or district system of local governance. It is more "representative". But how much do we know about WARDS. We asked Maurice "MOE" Sinzly, former Tombstone Councilman, WARD 4, to answer straight forward questions about his experience under the system. Voters interested in the subject are well advised to listen to the interview conducted by Dan Abrams, host, DOIN' LUNCH.

The Health Care Debate Localized On Cochise Talk August... hot, muggy, long, and contentious, especially right now. We are afraid of what we don't know and we react with force. One wonders why the angry ones don't threaten really drastic measures... to get real healthy, eat right, exercise, maintain? Boy, that would show those insurance companies and law makers, "who needs ya?" and a well directed finger, Instead, we have a sense of entitlement. This interview is the best we've heard, anywhere, on the subject. Send your comments to dan@cochisetalk.com
Wednesday, August 12, 2009
Sheriff Dever Meets With DHS Napolitano The county's top law man faces mounting challenges on the border as primary focus shifts to criminal illegals nationwide. Arizona Rangers - The Story True Grit... these AZ Rangers. If you think of the Wild and lawless West, these are the tamers. So bold as to send one Ranger to quell one riotous town. Today, proud, and wherever they are needed by local law. They are the MEN IN BLACK.
Monday, September 7, 2009
The $11.00 Question - More Money For SV Schools? Voters assure educators that the money will be there... but will the voters be there on election day. Hence, the school district presses on to keep the issue of added taxpayer funding alive with information to help voters decide. Override opponents opted out of this interview/conversation, so we used their published objections to help form our own questions. We've noticed that out spoken critics often lack solutions of their own, offer only complaints. We hope this presentation helps you decide what you should do, if anything at all.
Tuesday, September 8, 2009
9/11 - For Some, Questions Continue To Linger How is it that the 9/11 invasion on the U.S. was so perfectly executed without someone in authority knowing what was going on? How safe are we and why was this tragic event even possible given all the preparation by the perps inside our borders? Is it Un-American to think "we" were in some way complicit, much less "snookered?". This interview with local Joy Banks will either irritate you, or, raise questions of your own, or both. Above all, we at Cochise Talk are saddened "9/11" ever happened. We ARE changed forever.

Is The Constitution Living Up To Its Reputation? The Constitution of the United States of America is "the" document upon which our ship-of-state navigates. We think of our "rights" as coming from "the Constitution". But, do they really? Does the Constitution really give us protection, and if so, from what? And, what do we know about the process that eventually produced a ratified document? And how much do we really know about its authors' mind sets at the time. And, has the "bible" of our legal and other systems held up over time? We think of a "scholar" as a person who's study, knowledge and understanding of a subject runs deep. Such a person may not always be met with agreement, but no one can take away from the commitment such a so-called "expert" makes to research, and to digging "even deeper". So, are you ready for a rare and captivating discussion of our Constitution? If you want to know something more than you do right now, if you are ready to have your own thought process challenged, and if you want to do it in less than an hour (that goes by like 20 minutes), listen to local retired military man and now government contractor Bill Buppert DOIN' LUNCH with Dan Abrams on Cochise Talk. This discussion might well be censored were it held in some other countries. Not in the U.S. and not on CochiseTalk.com We especially appreciate your feedback on this exclusive and timely interview conducted just one week after Constitution Day on September 17th. Write us at: info@CochiseTalk.com Note: Mr. Buppert's papers are frequently published on www.lewrockwell.com

The Successful Tombstone Town Meeting the C of C Boycotted For two amazingly upbeat hours at the Crystal Palace in Tombstone, townspeople took to the stage for interviews with Dan Abrams on Cochise Talk's hit local show DOIN' LUNCH to talk about their views on the town. One consensus, the bad publicity has to stop. On Wednesday, September 30, curious about what might happen, locals packed the world famous saloon by 11 o'clock to hear warm up music from guitar virtuoso Michael Grande and Chicago style blues from local favorite Cat Daddy. Despite declined invitations to the embattled mayor, and reps from the C of C including president Don Taylor who discouraged others from participating, and long-time saloon owner Steve Goldstein, local media attracted well over 100 persons to the site and talk was constructive and encouraging. Listen for yourself and see what this town is capable of. There was unity on location, even between Kim Herrig and Mike Carrafa, rival business owners. We hope nay sayers will take a lesson and seek ways to break the spell, starting with themselves. There is hope in Tombstone. Remember... "Without vision, the people perish". It's in the book. A sign on the desk of media giant Ted Turner says it best: "Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way".

WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE HEALTH CARE LEGISLATION? Both the house and senate have passed versions of health care legislation mostly with democratic votes in both houses. Now, the art of compromise is likely to produce a bill that will put passed legislation on the President's desk for his certain signature into law. It is difficult to find learned proponents to question. In fact, few have studied the proposed legislation like Joanne Daley. That's why we asked her back to give us her latest findings. She finds nothing good to report.
